"I'm extremely grateful to have my work recognized amongst that of other skilled artists. I wouldn't be the poet I am without their work - that endlessly inspires me, and most importantly, challenges me and everything I ever thought the art of poetry could be."

COLLECTION OF POEMS
SPECIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FOR "CURLS"

"This poet is aware of language and the sound of language. The poems, most notably, “Curls,” evidence a high regard for the kinetic and dynamic forces of diction and syntax. I was impressed by the power and tone of many of the pieces. This poet does not shy away from difficult and sensitive subject matter but also does not exploit that subject matter for pure “shock value.” These poems delve into matters of ethnicity, gender, and place without ever dislocating from the reader. The poet maintains concentration on the poem and the objective of all good poems, to communicate."
